UpCity Excellence Award 2020!

Off-Site Services is recognized for its commitment to customer service and expertise in our open-source web development with Excellence Award from UpCity.  This award is based on verified reviews from real-world customers who had first hand experience with us on projects ranging from Drupal development to WordPress support and custom API development and integrations. It is a good measure of the quality of web development and support work that we've been doing since starting our firm in 2003 right here in New York City. Starting with custom open source PHP development, we gradually moved to Drupal and WordPress, and these two PHP-based frameworks have been at the core of our web development for over a decade.  We also work in other PHP-based frameworks such as Expression Engine and Joomla, but Drupal 8 and 9 and WordPress 5 remain our core areas of expertise.  Pretty much all our Drupal web sites are extended beyond core functionality with modules and custom templates and integrations.  The same holds true for WordPress web sites that we build using commercial and customized themes, further extended with popular WordPress modules and integrations such as WooCommerce and Gravity Forms.

Of particular focus, and being one of the most important factors to our customers, is end user experience on their web sites, build by our web development team.  From the very beginning we positioned our company as design-conscious web developers, with an eye toward pixel-perfect consistency across different browsers and platforms.  This translates into our overall approach to quality control, as all our web development work goes through rigorous testing on commercial QA platforms such as Browserstack and Crossbrowsertesting and ADA compliance review using both software and manual testing.

As a true devops team, we take a holistic approach to website development, from user experience on the front end to server configuration, maintenance, and ongoing support.  The Drupal and WordPress websites we develop function with minimal downtime because we proactively maintain the site's code base and server environment and, more importantly, actively resolve conflicts arising from updates to either one.  This is especially important during major framework migrations, such as migration from Drupal 7 to Drupal 8 or Drupal 9, when multiple server parameters have to be aligned to new framework requirements.

Squarespace, along with Wix, Simplesite, and many others, is a good way to get your online presence up and running. All of these services are easy to use, with plenty of templates that make creating visually appealling site easy even for non-technical amongst us. They also share the same limitations when yo...

Typically, frames are thought of as ancient web tech, relegated to the dustbin of history by responsive web design which, in turn, is also getting long in the tooth. But there are times when we as web developers are forced to employ whatever technology that suits a specific project need, and few years back we did...
